Ulsrud hosts Norwegian Upset over Martin in Oslo

 A steal of Four, and it was essentially over. Three more two ends later and it was handshakes.
Thomas Ulsrud’s Norwegian team was the team playing rude hosts to Kevin Martin’s World Championship team, upsetting the Edmonton, Canada rink by a score of 8-2 in 5 ends at the Radisson SAS Oslo Cup.
Ulsrud, along with teammates Torger Nergard, Christopher Svae and Havard Vad Petersson began the all important final game with the hammer, but it appeared Martin’s team was on the road to another title win, as he stole a single point in the first end.
Ulsrud straightened out the ship, scoring a single in the second end to tie the game, and then surprised Martin by stealing 4 points in the third end. Several miscues in the third end by Martin’s team of John Morris, Marc Kennedy and Ben Hebert led to Martin having a difficult final shot, and another miss left four in the rings for Ulsrud.
Martin was held to a single point in the fourth end, and then the World Bronze Medalists scored three more points in the 5th end to seal the win, and the top prize of 60,000 Norwegian Kroner.
