| The World's best teams, as part of the Grand Slam of Curling are coming to Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia to showcase their skills at The National, and you are invited you to be part of the excitement at the Pavillion de la Jeunesse from November 28 to December 2, 2007. In 2001, the event debuted in Wainwright, Alberta to great fanfare, with Wayne Middaugh capturing the first title. In 2004 in Hamilton, Ontario, Kevin Martin engineered one of the greatest comebacks ever. After a disastrous first end which saw Martin drop five points to Jeff Stoughton, Martin battled his way back to capture the title by stealing the final end. In 2005, Wayne Middaugh and his newly formed rink with Peter Corner continued their early season domination, defeating Glenn Howard in a semifinal, and then dispatched Saskatchewan's Pat Simmons in the final in the first year of the event taking place in Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia. Last March, again in Port Hawkesbury, Martin faced young upstarts in the Kevin Koe rink, who made their first Grand Slam event final. 18 of the World's best teams coming to Port Hawkesbury in December.
